Anybody else imagine AlfonZo foaming at the mouth when he did the whole rant on sex in the culture?

Wait a minute! I just realized that Culture has the the word Cult in it! Holy Shit!

Speaking of the total fail of a total ban...

Had the rate of violent crime involving handguns stopped going up in the UK yet?  As I recall, it started going up rather sharply after New Labour decided to ban all private ownership of handguns, and those were guns that couldn't have been acting as a deterrent, since the only place it was legally permissible to have a handgun before that was stored at a licensed shooting range.

I don't know about crimes with handguns going up, but robberies while people are home have gone up in the UK.

Wait a minute, the game devolves into this violent scenario BEFORE gameplay begins? So no one's even CLAIMING it's a simulation showing libertarianism leading to it? What is this supposed to prove other than the bias of the creators?

Also, they game has a morality system that contradicts itself. There are these roaming creatures called Big Daddies who protect creatures that look like little girls called Little Sisters. If you kill a Big Daddy, you can either harvest the Little Sister to make the game easier or let her go. The thing is that Big Daddies don't attack you unless you attack them first, so either way, you're the one in the wrong.

Man that AlfonZo Rachel guy has such a punchable face.

I'd be careful. I hear he's a martial arts teacher. Probably, the kind Penn & Teller Bullshit! went after though.

I've got a new one. The Bioshock fallacy. Its where someone brings up what happened in the game Bioshock as evidence of why libertarianism will lead to social disorder.

I love how this was the recommended related story at the bottom of the article:

Hate to say it, But We told ya so.

Oh so you're going to have your police and military discard their guns and vow never to threaten people with bodily harm again because you care oh so much about such matters?

Didn't think so.

I doubt the officials who said this have ever held a gun.
I may be wrong.

"Liberty can be messy, Ahmet. But it is priceless."     Ezio Auditore da Firenze

Seriously, why doesn't, "This is a fucking stupid rule!" never enter their heads?

Me? Watching the anti-war movement suddenly disappear after Obama was elected.

A Nebraska public school is barring a deaf three-year-old boy from using sign language to sign his name because, it claims, the gesture resembles a gun. The school’s policies have prompted outrage from parents, rights groups and ordinary citizens.
