First off, I doubt that people believing in sewer gators is an actual problem of a proportional magnitude.

Second, it would be more constructive to post more then a title.

- It was written by a science fiction author who publicly admitted he was doing it for the money

Is this really true?
I heard it several times, but if this is true, why do people still believe in this stuff?

He said "You don't get rich writing science fiction. If you want to get rich, you start a religion.", "I'd like to start a religion. That's where the money is!", and many other similar statments prior to writing dianetics

Scientology, in my opinion, is just like any other religion.

Except:
- It was written by a science fiction author who publicly admitted he was doing it for the money
- I wouldn't technically count Scientology as a religion so much as a self help program where you try to rid your body of its soul, or as they call it, thetan
- Their propaganda videos are filled with loads of bogosity, more so then any other religion.
- They think psychiatrists did the holocaust

I could go on, there is clearly more bogosity here then your average religion.
