post the dumbest strawmans / arguments against evolution you have ever seen/herd of
this should be fun ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
Shouldn't this be in the episode 2: Creationism forum?
oops, well it can still be in general discussion as well because it covers all areas, but i can start this again in the creationist forum if you like?
I'll move it. Wasn't someone talking about forming a Wiki for this?
don't know , haven't been here that long lol
Well, PZ Myers just so happens to have written this (http://scienceblogs.com/pharyngula/2009/07/a_lesson_in_atheist_philosophy.php).

We were talking about a Libertarian Wiki, I do believe, not a creationist/evolution wiki. That's all that I can recall.
OK, my bad. Besides, we've already got SkepticWiki for the creationist stuff anyway.
Also, there is RationalWiki.
And talk.origins and iron chariots.
Evolution violates the second law of thermodynamics is pretty stupid
Why do you bring that up?

I hear it all the damn time. I live in the bible belt.
Back on topic:
"We're the product of random chance?"
"If you support evolution being taught in schools, you're supporting social darwinism/survival of the fittest!"
"Evolutionists believe everything came from nothing."

Oh, sorry, I forgot what the actual topic of the thread was. It isn't as much a strawman as it is a plain falsehood, though.

"Evolutionists believe everything came from nothing."
Yeah, that one pisses me off, too. I once wrote to somebody on YouTube: ,,ATHEISTS DON'T BELIEVE EVERYTHING CAME OUT OF NOTHING, YOU IDIOT!!!"
That moron then quote-mined me as: ,,EVERYTHING CAME OUT OF NOTHING, YOU IDIOT!!!" —
even though everyone could see what I actually wrote — and proceeded to mock the strawman he built.
Fucking idiots.
Shane: "We're just not dealing with honest people here."
Not to mention that's the Big Bang Theory they're addressing, which is cosmology, NOT evolution, and not even Abiogenesis.
Another good one: "Evolutionists believe we come from a lightning strike in a mud puddle" - Ben Stein *coughProjectioncough*
Another annoying one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FZFG5PKw504 The No Life in a Putter Butter Jar speil (Confusing Evoultion and Abiogenesis...to say the least)

Confusing reality with an acid trip is more like it for that video.

well said good sir
OK, technically the following videos aren't directly from creationists (they're satire), they still make fun of creationist viewpoints, many of them strawmen of evolution.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LL35aj7k5V4 <-- The old "Have you ever seen creature A give birth to something else?"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jS5cFfptH4Y <-- Strawman of atheism, social darwinism and evolution
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eLqIpBR_oco <-- Strawman of the big bang (something I already pointed out, but still funny)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i1fBlB3eghY <-- Not really a strawman so much as showing how creationists like to change their words to fool others.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d52gI2Eb15M <-- Strawman of transititional form, among other things.
