This video would be funny if it wasn't for the fact that far too many people didn't think education should be like this. (Looking at you, Tumblr!)

By now, if you have been paying attention to the news media, you've heard about the study that links eating red meat to cancer. (I'm sure you've also been hearing the vegans gloat about this finding.) As can be expected with most science reporting, the media has been misrepresenting the study and blowing it completley out of proportion.

Not really going to bog everyone down with an info dump, so I'm simply going to post this chart and the following articles that put much more clarity into the issue:

Long Story Short: CNN has been reporting that Clinton "won" the debate, when most polls (even their own) show that Sanders was the winner:

http://www.drudge.com/news/192379/sanders-won-all-major-polls-but-corp-media

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/h-a-goodman/yes-bernie-sanders-defeated-hillary_b_8292280.html

In fact, CNN has been deleting comments on their Facebook page that express support for Bernie: http://mediaequalizer.com/brian-maloney/2015/10/fuming-bernie-supporters-why-is-cnn-deleting-our-comments

Now, I'm far from a Bernie supporter, but this is the same sort of crap that Ron Paul faced in the media when he ran in the last election. The establishment press can't stand that a populist is challenging their agenda, so they try to cover it up with a media blackout.

The kicker? CNN is owned by Time Warner, a big donor to Hillary's campaign: http://poorrichardsnews.com/naturally-cnns-parent-company-is-one-of-hillary-clintons-biggest-donors/

Talk about things that make you go, hmm!

You know how you all have been talking about starting a separate category from BBE and IE that highlights the most evil asshole? Can we start that this week and make the first nominee the Nobel Peace Prize winning president who greenlit this: http://www.cnn.com/2015/10/07/asia/doctors-without-borders-afghanistan-airstrike/

If that doesn't make him an irredeemable a-hole, I don't know what else will!

Some of the comments to my latest Statist and Anarchist comic on DA: http://blamethe1st.deviantart.com/art/Statist-And-Anarchist-Auditions-561457893#comments

Yeesh! I decide to start making fun of Republicans (after a year of making fun of Dems) and some of my followers are flipping their lids. Guys, they're both statists parties. My comic makes fun of statists. Republicans are statists, and I don't care how much they boast of being for "limited government, fiscal responsibility, and individual liberty." They need their fair share of ridicule, especially now that Trump is leading the polls. That guy is as "libertarian" as Obama. He pretty much makes Obama look like a libertarian in comparison. :/

What I love about RT is how they cover news that no one else will. What I hate is how this means that they also permit conspiracy theory nonsense!

Sweet Celestia! What is with the influx of anti-vaxxer nonsense this week?

Scotland to issue formal ban on genetically modified crops

Not sure what's worse: that the Scots have moved forward with this despite scientists arguing that it's stupid, or that the anti-GMO crowd are going to point to this as reason for America to follow suit. ("See, Scotland banned GMOs, why can't we? It's because Monsanto owns our government!")

Bernie Sanders: The Vox conversation

QuoteBernie: Open borders? No, that's a Koch brothers proposal...What right-wing people in this country would love is an open-border policy.

Eh, what right-wing people has Bernie been listening to? Because it's not Rush Limbaugh. It's not Fox News. It's not every Republican candidate who's been pandering to their base by promising them a barb-wire electric fence along the border with gun turrets every 100 feet. Open borders has been a left-wing proposal, or at best, a libertarian one.

As much as I would hate to put PZ Myers on here, as the old saying goes, even a broken clock tells the correct time twice a day, and this broken clock has an excellent response towards the "Big Pharma" talking point:

QuoteI've been accused, occasionally, of being a pharma shill. Pharmaceutical companies make obscene profits! They're paying off people to hide the dangers of their drugs! And there is a tiny grain of truth: those companies do reap great profits. Be the first to patent a Viagra or Zoloft, and the money will come rolling in.

But there's so much investment required! You need to test thousands of drugs to find one that does anything; then there's all the animal testing, the clinical trials, the regulatory oversight, the lawsuits that follow from side-effects (and if the drug is actually potent, there will be side-effects). No, that's not for me. If I wanted to be really rich, and had no conscience at all, I'd go straight to Big Alt Med.

No testing! Cheap products! In the case of homeopathy, you can market tiny bottles of water! Supplements are almost entirely unregulated, nobody cares if you're selling pills stuffed with sawdust. It's miraculous sums of money for entirely non-miraculous garbage, plus a lot of promises

So let me get this straight: legalizing gay marriage will lead to outlawing religion which will lead to implementing fundamentalist religious law? Makes sense?

So now North Korea is a "libertarian paradise." Okay. Not only do statists not know what "libertarianism" is, they also don't know what "government" is. What the heck are our public schools teaching our children that dimbulbs come up with these asinine conclusions?

The only solace that I have concerning this are the epic win responses to this steaming piece of bogon on Tumblr:

Quoteimpeccable logic

about 100% of the websites you visit didn't exist 100 years ago.

visit. real. webpages.

Pretty sure wheat, corn, salt, fat, and sugar all existed back then

fucking eat like a Russian peasant after the Bolshevik revolution, chow down like a Congolese family during the droughts of 1910 - 17, crunch your mandibles around pies filled with rat shit as the Pure Food and Drug Act starts to get enforced properly, suck down your gruel as a sod farmer at 5.30am, get beri-beri disease from eating polished white rice and let your brain rot out your thick unkempt hippie skull as you chew fucking curds and shit yourself to death
