I thought of this one after seeing JacobSpinney comment on this comedic jewel.

So... Does porn lead to increased incidences of gender inequality, sexual violence against women, etc? I highly doubt it. =P

Oooh, I hope they don't find my DA gallery.

I recall one Youtube video in which an anti-porn crusader announced that 80% of the porn on the internet involved depictions of non-consensual sex or rape.  First off, what scientific polling method did you use to determine that?  Viewing all the porn on the internet is not something you can do in a lifetime or perhaps even several lifetimes, not that some haven't made an admirable attempt at it.  Second, is she only viewing porn from Japan, and if so how does she account for the exceptionally low rate of sexual crime compared to the United States and Britain, despite the fact that the country produces rape porn for general consumption?  Third, what is this dumb woman talking about exploitation of labor?  Porn actors are not forced to be porn actors, they choose to do so, and are paid well for their efforts.  Women have not only made careers out of being porn actresses but have actually achieved celebrity for their unique...talents.  Is their success somehow illegitimate just because there's sex involved?  If so, then Cotton Mather is calling he wants his mores back prude.

I remember reading a few articles about this trend by the president of the ACLU. Apparently, it's this new branch of feminism that somehow views sex as inherently demeaning to women, and that those who enjoy sex are complicit in their own exploitation. Which is weird. Of course, their proposed solution to the problem is censorship. The only thing that's going to do is give the government the power to suppress speech which the public finds "offensive", which will probably end up being used against them. I mean, Canada already instituted a few statutes based on laws suggested by the leader of one of these groups (Macwhilton, I think her name was. I'd have to look it up again.). After she applauded the laws, they were used to ban a couple of her books in the Canadian provinces that had instituted them. Irony's a bitch, eh? =P

Oh I can attest to that. The doctors told me that my hand will never be the same again.

As one person said about the topic of "exploiting women": Would you strip in public for no reason?  Probably not.  Would you do it for 100$?  1000$?  10,000$?

Everyone has their price and the people who employ porn stars were just willing to pay theirs.

The real exploitation happens when such things are banned but do the moral crusaders give a damn about that?  Hell no...
I recently heard that the word heretic is derived from the greek work heriticos which means "able to choose"
The more you know...

It's just like the drug war: they point to the problems with prohibition, and they pretend these problems are inherent to whatever it is they're prohibiting and use that to justify prohibition!

At least not as long as they can ask for lots of bribes to keep an eye shut.
