Summary: In order to build up state funds to promote more affordable housing, the California Senate has voted to add a $75 fee (tax) to most real estate documents.

I can't roll my eyes enough at this.

And, of course, nothing to reign in local governments refusing to allow any housing to be built.  (I'm looking at YOU, Palo Alto!  You've had this problem for DECADES because you won't allow more housing to be built!)
