What is there to de-bunk? Scientology, in my opinion, is just like any other religion. It gets a bad rap because it is relatively new, but is really just as silly as Christianity or any other religion.

Yeah, I mean:

Galactic overlord puts souls of condemned in our body and brainwashes them
God impregnates virgin and sires himself
Two of every animal stuffed on a little boat for a year
Guy reads Egyptian hieroglyphics with magical seer stones
Guy with hammer makes thunder

One thing's for sure: it'd be good for a LOT of episodes...

Oh! If this forum existed back a lot of months ago, I would've suggested Scientology as well.

I might have suggested it at one point, but YouTube's commenting system gets messed up. I was going to suggest that he do an episode considering the whole "Scientology" craze that hit the internet early this year. If Shane could compile everything together clearly and concisely, it could make a bigger impact to clear up those who are confused.

Although, if you ever made such a video Shane, you'd have to BEWARE THE COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT oh noes! And the crazy scientologist peoples, etc.

Scientology, in my opinion, is just like any other religion.

Except:
- It was written by a science fiction author who publicly admitted he was doing it for the money
- I wouldn't technically count Scientology as a religion so much as a self help program where you try to rid your body of its soul, or as they call it, thetan
- Their propaganda videos are filled with loads of bogosity, more so then any other religion.
- They think psychiatrists did the holocaust

I could go on, there is clearly more bogosity here then your average religion.

Is this really true?
I heard it several times, but if this is true, why do people still believe in this stuff?

He said "You don't get rich writing science fiction. If you want to get rich, you start a religion.", "I'd like to start a religion. That's where the money is!", and many other similar statments prior to writing dianetics

Scientology is ridiculous but Christianity is no different

talking snakes
living inside a "great fish" for three days
caused many deaths and war in the name of a god

and Christianity is taking in billions of dollars from people

Scientology has killed and stalked and sued many people and takes in millions of dollars

oh well, all religions are just cults just larger in size
