SO glad they've taken care of all the murder, rape, and arson and can now focus on things like this!
What is this, Egypt? so are the Savanna people going "eh illi waddaaha hnak?" every-time they find out a shopping cart is stolen--you know, as if it were the business owner/shopping cart's fault if it does get stolen?

Then again, I'm trying to find logic in a city-council from a state that produced the man behind the "Edgarsaga", and "Guam will tip over"
In the event that this isn't somehow a parody of reality, here's Donald Trump's latest scientific revelation:

Dave Jones put up a white noise sample on his second channel to check if YouTube would get copyright matches on it a couple of weeks ago.

No mention if he's gotten any copyright hits yet.

Meanwhile, Sessions FINALLY doesn't recuse himself, and does something stupid.
Saying the city itself doesn't feel right, but I don't even know who exactly to pin this on.

ARTICLE: Savannah’s abandoned shopping cart ordinance going up for vote

Summary: The Savannah City Council is set to vote on an ordinance which would fine businesses if their carts are found outside their property. Did someone steal one of your carts and leave it on the side of the road a few miles away? That'll be a fine of $375.

General Discussion / California Breakup News and Goings-Ons

So you probably recall back in 2014 there was an initiative to break up California into six states. Personally, I was a little disappointed when it seemingly vanished. But Timothy Draper and other Cali breakup proponents haven't given up yet; back in late October, they cleared the first hurdle for the new/revamped initiative to divide up California into three states:

And in more recent news, today supporters for the State of New California have declared their independence from the rest of the state:

Now, I'm generally too detached/lazy to figure out how the likelihood any of the proposals will succeed, but I still find it fascinating to hear about, and, as a non-Californian, I'd really like to see this make it to the ballot, if nothing else.

Not really sure if that warrants a new topic, but I couldn't think of any other way to begin this discussion.

Kansas state rep: Black people 'responded the worst' to marijuana because of 'their genetics'

A GOP lawmaker in Kansas said that African-Americans "responded the worst" to marijuana because of their "genetics" and "character makeup."

State Rep. Steve Alford (R) said at a “Legislative Coffee” session on Saturday that Jim Crow-era policies banning drugs such as pot were to protect other citizens from the drug use of black Americans.

“Basically any way you say it, marijuana is an entry drug into the higher drugs,” Alford said, as first reported by The Garden City Telegram. “What you really need to do is go back in the ’30s, when they outlawed all types of drugs in Kansas and across the United States.”

“What was the reason why they did that? One of the reasons why, I hate to say it, was that the African-Americans, they were basically users and they basically responded the worst to those drugs just because of their character makeup, their genetics and that,” he continued.

Not sure if this dimbulb president is stupid enough to believe what he actually said, or unintentionally smart in revealing how racist the drug war has been these past 40+ years. The majority of drug arrests for marijuana possession are of black Americans, despite them using drugs at the same rate as white Americans.

Not to mention that the entire drug war was created back in the 1970s by the Nixon administration as a way to suppress black Americans and anti-war protesters:

"You understand what I'm saying? We knew we couldn't make it illegal to be either against the war or black, but by getting the public to associate the hippies with marijuana and blacks with heroin. And then criminalizing both heavily, we could disrupt those communities. We could arrest their leaders. raid their homes, break up their meetings, and vilify them night after night on the evening news. Did we know we were lying about the drugs? Of course we did."

And also that the crack epidemic was started by the CIA in order to fund weapons for the Contras. So yes, the federal government targeted black Americans with crack for the sake of the military industrial complex could sell and trade weapons. The drug war is hella racist!

The thing I find absolutely baffling about this is that it's all based on this tiny little uptick at the end. Look earlier in the graph and you can see several other upticks, a couple of which are actually greater in magnitude than the last one.

This is noise, people.
